Wave Spell, the one of a kind music festival curated by STS9, is right around the corner! With a focus on music, art, and community Wave Spell takes over Belden, CA in less than two weeks to offer an intimate experience of some of today’s premiere live and electronic acts. Case in point is Denver, Colorado’s Dreamers Delight, the electronic brain child of Reed Krafft. He’ll be bringing his flavorful and unique take on electronic music right to the Feather River August 16-19. Krafft has been dabbling in music for less than half a decade but has already made a name for himself with some major collabs and releases on Pretty Lights “The Hot Sh*t” and Gramatik’s label Lowtemp Music.  We were fortunate enough to be able ask him a few questions before his coming performance.

Euphoric: You’re based out of Denver CO, a place just overflowing with musical creativity and talent right now. What do you think it is about Denver and the greater Colorado region that is so conducive to forward thinking music?

Dreamers Delight: Denver is a special place. I originally grew up and lived here until I was 14. I recently returned a year ago and feels really good to be back. There’s an energy here that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else and it’s pretty amazing. I’ve noticed that there’s a great community of people here as well. Everyone here is really positive and supports one another! Having the Rocky Mountains at my backdoor is also a pretty inspirational aspect of living here.

Your music is very intelligently produced, comprised of ethereal melodies, rich soundscapes, and various instruments. Do you come from a musical family or background?

I’m the only one in my family that has been involved with music. I started teaching myself music about four years ago and been pushing myself to keep learning since!

Do you have a specific mission or vision for your music?

The mission I have for my music is to keep pushing my sound and style to the best it can be and to never stop making music.

Do you have any special tricks or techniques you use to channel creativity when making music?

My main tool for creating music is definitely inspiration from my experiences, emotion, and dreams. I do my best to have those things translated directly in to my sounds and style. I want people to feel what I feel from those experiences and emotions.

Your new EP “Visions” is scheduled to come out this fall. Can you give us some insight into that release and the recording process behind it?

My new EP “Visions” is something very special to me. It consist of six songs that i’ve spent a better part of the past year working on. It includes a lot live elements including guitar, piano, and vocals. It a great blend of natural sounds with electronic elements and I’m super excited with how it turned out. I’ll be releasing the EP with Antifragile Records at the end of September but will have two tracks from the EP come out as singles before hand.

What other artists are you looking forward to seeing perform at Wave Spell?

There’s a ton of people I’m really excited about seeing at Wave Spell! A few include STS9 (of course), the BAAD Quartet, Sunsquabi, Maddy O’Neal, and Prefuse 73!

What does the rest of 2018 look like for Dreamers Delight?

The rest of 2018 for me is getting this EP out and to continue to work on new music and visuals. You might even see me on tour this fall!

Thanks so much!
