Challenging the single genre mindset, San Luis Obispo artist Snuffy has an original track list compiled of various sounds, styles, and moods. With his newest track “Backseat Geekin,” Snuffy combines his sharp funky style with some classic trap undertones. The beginning of the track displays some spacey electronic synths that carry out through the entirety of the tune. Toward the middle and end of the track, a lo-fi style lyrical interlude is wedged in between a deep bassline and bouncy modulation.
Andre (Snuffy) is not only a producer and DJ, but he is the co-founder of Good Nature Collective, a music label based out of the West Coast. Consisting of artists such as CØmadØse, Elliot Boles, Hoven, Brio, and many more, the collective is teeming with bass and electronic music brilliance. Finding many of Snuffy’s tracks throughout my personal music library, I can easily say the dude is one of my favorite artists at the moment. Take a peek into his Soundcloud page and catch him rinsing a set in Apple Valley at Kosmic Gardenz in September.
