With his latest release, “Totem,” Oakland experimental bass and trap producer Phers has released a deep glitch-hop track with a Bollywood style flare. With a combination of elongated and spacey snares accompanied by some native instrumentals and vocals, the track makes for a funky and cosmic creation. With a steady and rhythmic build up, the tune is then converged with a mixture of heavy and dark instrumentals. When a Bollywood style is incorporated into a bass track (the right way) it can easily become a track that is dripping with eclecticism, as it blends together various styles and genres of music into a single tune.

Hearing the progression Phers has made with his music and styles over the past year, it is safe to say this is my favorite track from the artist thus far. It is paired with some dope cover art created by Peter Hawks and was carefully mastered by audio production designer Billy Clayton. You can catch the BassHead Delegation resident rinsing a  b2b set with Womp Rat at the Good Nature Collective takeover show on June 8th in San Jose, California alongside many other talented producers from all over the West Coast.
