The Irwin Scholars Exhibit opened last week at the Sesnon Gallery at UCSC. The Irwin Scholarship itself, is the most prestigious award in the Art Department. This year, it was awarded to 12 students by faculty nomination, one of which was Stephanie Toro. Stephanie’s art takes the form of neon geometric frame works made from metal. She draws her inspirations from architecture, shapes, and designs that exist amongst us. Like many of the 2014 Irwin Scholars, Stephanie’s work is beautiful and unique. To see her work, and others, make sure to stop by the Sesnon Gallery in the next couple weeks.
